Ανάστατο είναι το Δημοκρατικό Κόμμα στις ΗΠΑ από τις κατηγορίες για παιδική πορνογραφία που αντιμετωπίζει ένας αξιωματούχος του, που αναδείχτηκε ως ακτιβιστής της LGBT.
Ο 39χρονος Μάθιου Ίμναν, που διετέλεσε πρόεδρος του Δημοκρατικού Ουράνιου Τόξου και ταμίας των Δημοκρατικών στο Ορλάντο, βρισκόταν στο «στόχαστρο» της αστυνομίας εδώ και καιρό.
Η «New York Post» έγραψε ότι συνομιλούσε με έναν μυστικό αστυνομικό, με τον δεύτερο να προσποιείται έναν πατέρα που ήθελε να βιάσουν το παιδί του.
Ο Ίμναν έστειλε βίντεο με βιασμούς παιδιών και ως αντάλλαγμα, ζητούσε να πραγματοποιήσει τη φαντασίωσή του. Να βρεθεί μόνος με ένα 9χρονο αγόρι, ώστε να το κακοποιήσει.
Το FBI, λοιπόν, έκανε έφοδο στο σπίτι του και ο 39χρονος έτρεξε στη σοφίτα να κρυφτεί, ενώ ταυτόχρονα προσπαθούσε να διαγράψει όλο το επίμαχο υλικό, όπως και τις συνομιλίες.
Μέχρι στιγμής, κρατείται στη φυλακή της κομητείας Seminole χωρίς εγγύηση και αναμένεται να σταλεί σε άλλο σωφρονιστικό ίδρυμα, ενώ σε περίπτωση καταδίκης αντιμετωπίζει ελάχιστη ποινή πέντε ετών και μέγιστη ποινή 20 ετών σε ομοσπονδιακή φυλακή.
