Αστυνομικοί συνέλαβαν σήμερα έναν άνδρα, ο οποίος είχε στην κατοχή του όπλο και σφαίρες, κοντά στο κτίριο του Καπιτωλίου, ανέφερε μέσω του Twitter δημοσιογράφος του τηλεοπτικού δικτύου NBC.
«Ένας άνδρας 71 ετών συνελήφθη με ένα όπλο και 20 σφαίρες των 9 χιλιοστών, ενώ ήταν σταθμευμένος στη διασταύρωση κοντά στο κτίριο γραφείων Ρέιμπερν», σύμφωνα με τον δημοσιογράφο Σκοτ Μακ Φάρλαν.
Το κτίριο Ρέιμπερν, που βρίσκεται στη νοτιοδυτική πλευρά του Καπιτωλίου, είναι ένα από τα τρία που χρησιμοποιούνται από τη Βουλή των Αντιπροσώπων. Μετά την εισβολή υποστηρικτών του τέως προέδρου Ντόναλντ Τραμπ, στις 6 Ιανουαρίου, φυλάσσεται από την Εθνοφρουρά.
