Τα τουρκικά αλιευτικά που βρίσκονται σε ελληνικά χωρικά ύδατα μεταφέρουν ιχθυοκλωβούς με αλίευμα από τη θάλασσα της Μεσογείου με προορισμό την Τουρκία, αλλά λόγω δυσμενών καιρικών συνθηκών αναγκάστηκαν να προστατευθούν από τον καιρό, εντός των ελληνικών χωρικών υδάτων, διευκρινίζει το Αρχηγείο του Λιμενικού Σώματος, απαντώντας σε δημοσιεύματα περί δήθεν αλίευσης από αλιευτικά σκάφη σημαίας Τουρκίας εντός ελληνικών χωρικών υδάτων.
Σύμφωνα με το Λιμενικό Σώμα, «τα εν λόγω σκάφη κινούνται με πολύ μικρή ταχύτητα και μόλις βελτιωθούν οι καιρικές συνθήκες θα κατευθυνθούν στον τελικό προορισμό τους, που είναι τα έναντι τουρκικά παράλια. Κατά συνέπεια, δεν τίθεται κανένα θέμα αλίευσης από τουρκικά αλιευτικά σκάφη, εντός των ελληνικών χωρικών υδάτων».
