Σύμφωνα με τις πληροφορίες του τοπικού kozan.gr, νεκροί είναι ένα 25χρονος από χωριό του Δήμου Σερβιών και ο δεύτερος από την Εδεσσα, μεταξύ των έξι ποδηλατών που ενεπλάκησαν στο δυστύχημα.
Το τροχαίο δυστύχημα σημειώθηκε λίγο μετά τις 13.00 στο 10 χλμ Πτολεμαΐδος – Αρδασσας όταν Ι.Χ. αυτοκίνητο που οδηγούσε μια γυναίκα παρέσυρε έξι ποδηλάτες. Στο σημείο έσπευσαν τρία ασθενοφόρα του ΕΚΑΒ που μετέφεραν τους τραυματίες στο Μποδοσάκειο νοσοκομείο της Πτολεμαΐδας.

Ο διοικητής του Μποδοσάκειου νοσοκομείου Πτολεμαΐδας, Γ. Χιωτίδης, επιβεβαίωσε το γεγονός του θανάτου των δύο ποδηλατών, ενώ έδωσε πληροφορίες για την κατάσταση της υγείας των υπολοίπων που τραυματίστηκαν στο δυστύχημα. «ΙΧ αυτοκίνητο παρέσυρε ομάδα ποδηλατών με αποτέλεσμα δυο εξ αυτών να τραυματιστούν θανάσιμα και οι 4 να είναι στο νοσοκομείο μας εκτός κινδύνου. Εκφράζουμε τη βαθύτατη θλίψη μας προς τους συγγενείς των θανόντων».
