Οι φωτογραφίες που έχουν εμφανιστεί στο διαδίκτυο δείχνουν τα αποτελέσματα της τεράστιας πυρκαγιάς στο Λος Άντζελες , η οποία είναι η μεγαλύτερη πυρκαγιά από πλευράς έκτασης στην ιστορία της πόλης. Οι φωτογραφίες σε κάνουν να νοιώθεις σαν να έρχεται η αποκάλυψη, χάρη στο τεράστιο σύννεφο ηφαιστειακής τέφρας που αιωρείται πάνω από την πόλη.
Η φωτιά στους θάμνους έγινε πάνω από την κοιλάδα του ανατολικού San Fernando, το Σάββατο. Έχει ήδη κάψει πολλές χιλιάδες στρέμματα γης και έχει προκαλέσει πολλές εκατοντάδες εκκενώσεις στην κοιλάδα.
Πολλά τμήματα των περιοχών Glendale, Burbank και Sunland-Tujunga έχουν εκκενωθεί πριν η φωτιά προσεγγίσει τις περιοχές. 300 κάτοικοι της περιοχής Burbank, 180 στο Λος Άντζελες και 250 στο Glendale απομακρύνθηκαν.
Οι φωτογραφίες θυμίζουν ηφαιστειακή έκρηξη παρά πυρκαγιά. Ο Καπνός παρά τις συμβουλευτικές προειδοποιήσεις στους κατοίκους να περιορίσουν τις υπαίθριες δραστηριότητες δημιούργησε προβλήματα σε πολλές περιοχές, συμπεριλαμβανομένων των Glendale, San Fernando Valley και San Gabriel Valley.
800 πυροσβέστες, κάτω από αντίξοες συνθήκες προσπαθούν να σβήσουν τη φωτιά.
Τέσσερις από αυτούς τραυματίστηκαν και, επίσης, 4 σπίτια κάηκαν ολοσχερώς.
