Δεν λυγάνε τα ξεράδια και πονάνε τα ρημάδια
κούτσα μια και κούτσα δυο στης ζωής το ρημαδιό
Μεροδούλι ξενοδούλι δέρναν ούλοι οι αφέντες δούλοι
ούλοι δούλοι αφεντικό και μ’ αφήναν νηστικό
και μ’ αφήναν νηστικό
Ανωχώρι κατωχώρι ανηφόρι κατηφόρι
και με κάμα και βροχή ώσπου μου ‘βγαινε η ψυχή
Είκοσι χρονώ γομάρι σήκωσα όλο το νταμάρι
κι έχτισα στην εμπασιά του χωριού την εκκλησιά
του χωριού την εκκλησιά
Άιντε θύμα άιντε ψώνιο άιντε σύμβολο αιώνιο
αν ξυπνήσεις μονομιάς θα ‘ρθει ανάποδα ο ντουνιάς
θα ‘ρθει ανάποδα ο ντουνιάς
Και ζευγάρι με το βόδι άλλο μπόι κι άλλο πόδι
όργωνα στα ρέματα τ αφεντός τα στρέμματα
Και στον πόλεμο όλα για όλα κουβαλούσα πολυβόλα
να σκοτώνονται οι λαοί για τ’ αφέντη το φαΐ
για τ’ αφέντη το φαΐ
Άιντε θύμα άιντε ψώνιο…
Koίτα οι άλλοι έχουν κινήσει έχει η πλάση κοκκινίσει
άλλος ήλιος έχει βγει σ’ άλλη θάλασσα άλλη γη
Άιντε θύμα άιντε ψώνιο.
